We are excited to announce that Fabrik Projects will be exhibiting new works from Jessie Chaney's ongoing Memory of a Space series at this year's Paris Photo OVR. November 7—10, 2024.
We are delighted to showcase the latest additions to her ongoing series, Memory of a Space. This series is a testament to Chaney’s dedication and artistic vision, bringing into sharp focus a collection of forgotten and neglected spaces that she has encountered throughout her journeys. These abandoned sites, remnants of progress and transformation, offer silent narratives through the traces left behind by previous inhabitants.
Chaney’s images are a visual documentation of decay and transformation, often adorned with contemporary imagery in a spontaneous act of reclamation. While her work may exude a sense of nostalgia, it is far from being simplistic or superficial. Memory of a Space is Chaney’s invitation to reflect on the rapid pace of contemporary life, urging us to pause and appreciate the small, enduring fragments of civilization.
